C House Milano, established as an Italian franchise back in 1961, made its debut in Dhaka relatively recently. Since its opening, this culinary gem has been dedicated to bringing the rich flavours of Italy to Dhaka's inhabitants.
Specializing in genuine Italian pizzas, pasta dishes and desserts, C House Milano has managed to carve out a niche for itself in the city's culinary scene by staying remarkably faithful to the original Italian flavours.
Reflecting on the restaurant's journey, founder Mahreen Nasir emphasized their unwavering commitment to preserving the essence of authentic Italian cuisine with the restaurant’s primary mission has always been to deliver an experience that transports diners to the heart of Italy with every bite.
In a city bustling with diverse culinary offerings, C House Milano stands out as a sanctuary for Italian food enthusiasts.

Food
Tagliatelle Mare E Monte, a delightful surf and turf pasta adorned with prawns, calamari, squid, assorted mushrooms, and a luscious tomato-based bounty, accompanied by a white mushroom sauce, graced one side of the pan. On the other side, we savoured the Pollo E Funghi, a Tagliatelle pasta dish featuring tender chicken, earthy mushrooms, and a drizzle of olive oil, topped with shiitake and matsutake mushrooms.
While both pasta dishes were a source of enjoyment, I couldn't help but feel that the Pollo E Funghi could have benefited from a touch more cream or cheese to achieve a richer sauce, as it seemed a tad dry.

Considering the exceptional preparation of the seafood and the pasta's remarkable ability to soak up the flavours, our ultimate choice leaned towards the Mare E Monte.
Next on our list was the Pollo Pesto Pizza. It boasted the same vibrant, herbaceous notes found in the pasta it traditionally accompanies, enhanced by the aromatic accents of garlic, pine nuts, cheese, and a pronounced essence of olive oil from the pesto.
While introducing pesto sauce to pizza is an inventive twist that makes it more accessible than its pasta counterpart, die-hard pesto enthusiasts might yearn for a bolder burst of flavour. This pizza is a fine choice if you're seeking something slightly unconventional, offering just a hint of the beloved pesto flavour.

Our gastronomic adventure culminated with the Pistachio Mini Cake and Caramel Mini Cake, providing a fitting conclusion to our meal.
The pistachio mini cake exuded velvety smoothness, complemented by a delicate crunch that accentuated the nutty splendour of this exquisite green delight.
On the other hand, the caramel mini cake proved to be a crowd-pleaser. Its decadent cake base, lavishly adorned with a golden cream caramel frosting, delivered a satisfyingly sweet and indulgent experience that harmonized beautifully with the cake's sponge.

A delightful touch was the placement of a macaroon atop the cake, adding an extra layer of tasteful elegance to this remarkable dessert.
The price range for a meal at C House Milano is between Tk600 to Tk3000.

Challenges
Despite being operational for three years throughout the pandemic, this Italian eatery barely had any time to promote its existence. As a result, they are banking on word of mouth to bring in new customers and grow as an establishment
"We were not able to have a grand opening, and opted for a soft launch with people due to the pandemic," explained Area Manager MD Jakir Hossain.
"Now we're depending on people trying our food, and then word of mouth spreads because of the quality."
They have kept the same prices since opening, and just two weeks ago decided to raise them to reflect the state of the economy.
Nonetheless, the profit margin is still modest when considering consumers' budgets.
Inflation and the fact that most of our supplies are imported have necessitated a price hike, but otherwise, "we had kept the prices the same since we opened," he said.
