The September issue

Update : 06 Sep 2015, 11:08 AM

The autumn collection should go into full effect in the month of September. What we've seen so far in our city, the rain isn't stopping anytime soon. Bummer, we know. But when the time comes, when the streets are no longer flooded causing city-wide madness, you'll be prepared for the coming autumn months.

Time to take out those style notes, fellas. Pay attention and write these down because this month is all about getting back to work.

Man-up

This one is very simple. Try and find the manliest thing in your closet. When we say manly, we mean those rugged, fashionable boots or that trusted denim jacket.

Chained down

In a suit, with a dress shirt or a t-shirt, rock a simple chain. You see, the manly theme continues. The chain will add plenty of sex appeal. But don't go overboard, keep only the top two buttons on your shirt open. You don't want to be confused for an Albanian mob boss.

Get a tan

The autumn provokes certain colours and shades, tan being one of them. The same can go for khaki, if you fancy it. So if you're thinking about making some new suits, try and find fabrics in that colour. Try taking a visit to Zurhem (in Baridhara), as they carry colours you may find difficult to discover elsewhere.

Old school

Black and white is a combo to aim for in September. Some of you live by these two contrasted clours, but for those foreign to this concept, you might want to give it a shot. It's classy, elegant and just straight, old school gangsta.

Indiana Jones

We all grew up watching Harrison Ford humorously save the world in those crazy adventures. Living in a city like Dhaka can be an unfortunate misadventure like no other. Take out your adventure gear ahead of time, while the rain lingers on. We're talking about that messenger bag, denim shirt, jeans, boots or corduroy trousers. Go all out, don't be afraid to get dirty.

Midnight in midday

This might sound a tad out of the blue (no pun intended). Midnight blue suits, contrasted with other shades of blue in the afternoon is a winner. In men's fashion, after an appropriate amount of time, we like to bend the rules a bit. A midnight blue suit, blazer or trousers are obviously meant for the evening. Wearing it during the day will have this stunning colour shine with all the glory. You'll actually be able to tell that the suit is blue.

The other jacket

For those weekends out or even on casual Friday at work, a dressy – more fitted – denim jacket is a perfect replacement for your blazer. The versatility in the upper-scale denim jacket will make things easier for you when choosing an outfit.

This is only the beginning. Come back around next week for more September looks.
