Update : 22 Jan 2021, 04:44 PM

The Bangladeshi motorbiking industry might soon feature bigger and better 350cc motorbikes. There have been a lot of myths, rumors, and controversies regarding possible additions in the market. The bikes would be costly to buy and maintain. However, the opportunities are endless, considering the heavier 350cc bikes will have wider tires, better brakes, and various riding modes.

We made a list of possible motorbikes that may arrive in Bangladesh if the cc restrictions are lifted. Here they are:

The Mighty Royal Enfield

Ifad Autos has already signed a memorandum to bring the much-anticipated Royal Enfield motorbikes in the country if the cc restrictions are readjusted. This bike features a classic British design that people love and admire. Added with the unique exhaust sound, this bike is a fan favorite.

KTM

KTM is another trendy brand among the motorbiking enthusiasts in our country. For now, we have 125cc KTM Dukes on our streets, but the bikes failed to create much of an impression. The good news is that Runner Automobiles Ltd has already taken the initiative to distribute the existing Duke 125 officially. However, upon lifting the restriction, Runner Automobiles Ltd can also start delivering the fascinating KTM RC 200 and KTM Duke 250.

The Ninja

The Japanese motor engines have always had a perfect reputation. They are reliable and long-lasting. However, a few special ones could not enter the Bangladeshi market due to the cc limitation. But if the winds change, Ninja ZX 25R will be a game-changer. This motorbike is a beast. It produces 51 horsepower with 22.0 Nm of torque. It is also one of the very few motorbikes that features a line four engine. In this four-cylinder piston engine, cylinders are arranged in a line along with a common crankshaft. This gives the motorbike enormous power and performance compared to any other bike in this segment.

CBR

People in this country are so familiar with Honda motorcycles that they sometimes use the term "Honda" to indicate any motorcycle at all. Reliability and Honda: These are the two words that go together in a pair. Honda also has a fantastic bike in its list that can significantly dominate the new 350cc market segment. It is the CBR 250RR. It offers an aggressive design, and has Honda’s brand reliability which makes it one genuine contender in this segment.

Yamaha

For a long time, the Yamaha R15 reigned supreme on the roads of Bangladesh. It had a separate legacy among people of all ages. ACI Motors Limited is the official distributor of Yamaha motorcycles in Bangladesh and they couldopen the door to introduce the Yamaha YZF R3. This 321cc motorbike possesses the potential to be the next legacy sports bike of our country. There is also some commuter level 250cc motorcycle from Yamaha, namely the FZ25 and Fazer 25 that may hit the market as soon as the restriction’s been lifted.

Pulsar

Bajaj motorcycles had created an impression of being both reliable and affordable at the same time. There was a time not long ago when the streets were dominated by Bajaj motorcycles; even today, a significant portion of the roads' motorbikes is Pulsar. The Pulsar lineup, however, has few more motorcycles: The Pulsar RS 200 and NS 200. Uttara motors, the official distributor of Bajaj motorcycles in Bangladesh, can introduce them if the situation changes.

Conclusion

The government is yet to decide if they will ease up the cc limit for the motorcycles in Bangladesh. Nevertheless, it is an exciting prospect. While there are some downsides to having a completely new segment of motorcycles available, the upsides are much greater. For now, we can all just wait and watch.
