Super Star Group (SSG) is a leading electrical & electronics conglomerate operating for the last two decades. Aftab Mahmud Khurshid, the CMO of SSG, is getting a lot of feedback these days, mostly positive ones, about their recently aired corporate TVC. After joining SSG, he planned a brand face-lift for the organisation and wanted a fresh look to establish a contemporary corporate identity.
With the intention to revamp his brand, Aftab wanted a 360 degree communication strategy and consulted with Outbox Limited to share his approach. He briefed the Outbox team about SSG’s new logo and positioning, and asked for a global communication strategy that would appeal to the global audience.
“Through our slogan ‘Future is bright’ we want to communicate a message of positivity to all our current and potential stakeholders,” says Aftab Mahmud.
Outbox Limited is a new age advertising agency, co-ventured by industry veterans Rasel Bari and Mostafa Kamal Aru in 2012. They provide creative solutions to local and global companies to create, maintain and strengthen their brands.
Outbox team started to build their story keeping the global concept in mind. This was a daunting task for Outbox as communicating the corporate brand was somewhat more challenging than usual product communication. However, the entire team accepted the challenge and crafted a script on which the next steps were scheduled. As it was being designed for a global audience, Outbox decided to work with people from all over the world to make the film and produce the music. After much hard work, the storyboard was ready, the client had agreed, and the production team was ready to shoot.
The production team was led by talented director Istiak Mahmud. Outbox wanted to bring fresh perspectives to the table and decided to bank on Mahmud.
His venture, BlankBox Films, put up a brilliant show in the end. They began by shooting in Cox’s Bazar and Teknaf. Mahmud’s team was made of roughly 200 people and it was no easy feat to pull off. The shoot took three hectic days to complete.

The commercial was launched on February 25. It is currently being aired across several TV channels and is creating quite a buzz on social media. SSG’s omni-channel promotion has shown promise not just on popular social media, but on print media as well.
