On the occasion of World Youth Skills Day this past Tuesday on July 14, speakers at a virtual roundtable discussed the need to reassess employment in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and the expanding skillset necessary to meet the changing needs of employers. Dhaka Tribune is publishing a one-page special highlighting the key takeaways from the discussion.
The virtual roundtable of industry experts was arranged by the Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC) on Tuesday evening. The program was moderated by Ejaj Ahmed, founder and president of BYLC, and Dhaka Tribune Editor and BYLC Governing Board Member Zafar Sobhan.
Ejaj Ahmed opened the session addressing how BYLC began as an endeavour to help change society and the innovated its approach in response to the difficulties faced by newcomers to the professional sector.
The engrossing discussion covered a spectrum of perspectives, with each speaker presenting their own take on the matter and suggesting what young people, particularly those aspiring towards jobs, could do in order to make the most of the situation we are currently living in.
