Particular to our side of Bengal, the Ilish (hilsha) fish is the reigning symbol of this piscine love affair. While many things have been different about this year, one can take comfort in a few familiar sights over the Meghna river, in Chandpur and in Amtoli, Barguna, where the hilsha catch of the season takes place.
