Renowned architect Bashirul Haq, known for his ideological environment- responsive architectural style passed away on Saturday.
An urban planner and educator, Huq was undergoing treatment at Gonosasthya Hospital in Dhaka.
His nephew Salman Azim confrimed to the Dhaka Tribune about his demise.
He will be buried today (Sunday) at his ancestral home in Brahmanbaria.
Born in Brahmanbaria, Haq, in his illustrious 45-year career he designed over 300 buildings, including Chhayanaut Bhaban, MIDAS Tower and East West University in Dhaka.
He is survived by his wife Professor Firdous Azim, chair of the Department of English and Humanities at BRAC University and two sons.
