The App
In this day and age when you can carry out bank transactions, pay your bills and shop for your favourite perfume with just a swipe on your smartphone's touchscreen, Harikken, a Dhaka-based restaurant discovery platform, takes things up a notch and presents to us a list of top rated restaurants and food joints within our vicinity. Whether it's Chinese, Indian, Italian or sushi that you're craving, Harriken will make the hunt a lot easier for you.
You can download the app from your App Store on iOS, or Google Play Store (if you are using Android), and register using your Facebook account. You can also access the app on your desktop or laptop. You can then search for your favourite restaurants or the cuisine of your preference, or even the type of meals you are looking for (dining, bakery, cafe, etc), and the mighty behemoth will generate a list of places based on your location from a huge pool of more than 3,000 restaurants. You can also just type in your location and it will generate a list of restaurants in that particular area.

Starting from May 13, Harriken will be hosting Dining Week 2017 that will conclude on May 20. The participating 12 restaurants at the event are Lotus Etang, Khazana (Uttara), Royal Park, Taste of Lanka, Umai, Absolute Thai, Tastebud, Veni Vidi Vici, Spice and Rice by Radisson Blu Dhaka, Four Points by Sheraton, Lake Terrace and Sky Pool at Six Seasons Hotel.
Through this event, Harriken aims to make their app users' dining experience as delightful and easy as possible, giving them some of the best deals at the 12 restaurants, ranging from a 25 to 30 percent discount on some or all meals available. To participate in the Harriken Dining Week (HDW 2017), one will need to download and get on the app, get a table at their desired restaurant, obtain a promo code and insert it into the app. They will then get a confirmation text message saying that they've unlocked their deal. All they have to do next is to show the message to the restaurant to avail the deal(s).
