A fire broke out on the set of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan-starrer film “Zero” at Film City in Goregaon (East), Mumbai, on Thursday evening, police told news agency PTI.

The actor was present on the set when the incident occurred evening but was unhurt and later left the premises.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Vinay Rathod said: “No casualties were reported and police are still investigating the cause of the fire.”

“The fire was confined to electric wiring, electric installation, lights, shooting materials, ropes and curtains. Smoke was seen swelling out of the studio and four fire engines had to be rushed to the spot,” he added.

Firemen rushed to the scene at 7pm and contained the fire within an hour, reported Times of India.

Khan has recently been busy promoting the film which will hit Indian theatres on December 21, 2018. “Zero” is directed by Anand L Rai and featuresKatrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in lead roles and also a cameo of another Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.

This big budget production ran into controversy earlier this month after Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) General Secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa filed a complaint against Khan and the director of this film for hurting Sikh sentiments.
