Renowned Bangladeshi documentary film-maker Syed Sajedur Rahman Firoz passed away at 11pm on Sunday, August 12 in London. His Namaz-e-Janaza took place on Monday at the Brick Lane Mosque, East London, UK, after Zohr prayers.
He was a famous documentary film-maker, researcher, owner of his media production house Media Box, and a dear friend of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s son Sheikh Kamal.
His production house Media Box produced documentaries on the movements against the British Colonial rule, revolutionary Binod Bihari Nag, Master Da Surjo Sen and many more.
Many cultural activists of Udichi and theatre artists of Jessore acted in these documentaries.
Sajedur was fighting liver cancer for many years and was under treatment in London.
His family, friends and loved ones in Bangladesh took to social media and paid their respectsto the film-maker and cultural activist.
