Renowned West Bengal singer Sahana Bajpaie has been honoured with The Bengal's Pride award by the Asian Voice and Gujarat Samachar, two leading newsweeklies for the South Asian community in Britain.
The award was handed over to her at a ceremony organized at The House of Commons of the British parliament in Westminster on Thursday.
The Bengal's Pride award recognizes and honours extraordinary achievements of the Bangali diaspora in Britain, India and Bangladesh.
Asian Voice and Gujarat Samachar had jointly hosted the award giving ceremony.
After receiving the award, Sahana said: “I am honoured to be chosen for this award, and I thank everyone for supporting me throughout my career.”
She also dedicated the award to her daughter.
