The Ministry of Information has announced through a gazette notification that five people are to receive grants from the government in the film section. Director Gazi Rakayet, winner of 17 National Awards for “Mrittika Maya,” is one of the five nominees to receive the grant in 2017-18 fiscal year.
Other recipients of this grant are Manik Manobik for “Ajob Chele,” Abid Hossain Khan for “Obolombon”, Saidul Anam Tutul for “Kalbela,” and Habibur Rahman for “Olatchokro.” Gazi is receiving the grant for his new project “Gore.”
Of the five films, “Obolombon” is a documentary film which will receive Tk40 lakh in grants. The rest of the films are due to receive Tk60 lakh each.
