Six footballers of the Bangladesh women's national football team, who won the 2022 South Asian Football Federation champtionship, will participate in the 10th edition of Dhaka Lit Fest, to be held from January 5-8.
They six are captain Sabina Khatun, midfielder Maria Manda, forwards Rituporna Chakma and Krishna Rani Sarker, goalkeeper Rupna Chakma, and defender Akhi AKhter.
Coach Golam Rabbani, assistant coach Mahmuda AKhter and Member of Executive Committee and Fifa Council Member Mahfuza AKhter Kiron will also attend the event.
The Saff winners will participate in the event titled “We are the Champions” at 12:30pm on Friday on the premises of the Bangla Academy.
Bangladesh won their maiden Saff Women's Football Championship by beating hosts Nepal 3-1 in the final in Kathmandu on September 19, 2022.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh's first female Fifa referee Jaya Chakma will participate in another session titled “Pass it to Rizwana” on Friday.
“Pass it to Rizwana”, written by Crystal Pottebaum, is a special storybook about three girls fighting to play basketball.
Writer Crystal Pottebaum, Everest conqueror Nishat Majumder, Ashreen Mridha, former captain of the national women's basketball team, will also attend the session.
The program will be moderated by architect, artist and animator Salzar Rahman.
Over 500 speakers, performers and thinkers from five continents will participate in the four-day Dhaka Lit Fest.
The event has over 175 sessions, as well as a diverse mix of conversations and dialogues, sessions on science and technology, activities for children, young adults, film screenings, theatrical, music, and cultural performances.
Dhaka Lit Fest, organized by directors Sadaf Saaz, Ahsan Akbar and Kazi Anis Ahmed, will be held at the Bangla Academy from January 5-8.
