The speakers list for the Dhaka Lit Fest 2018 has been released. The three-day event, like its previous editions, will see a plethora of writers, publishers, and thinkers from around the world to share their ideas with Bangladeshi writers and literature lovers.
This year, among the speakers, there will be Pulitzer-winning author Adam Johnson. Another author worth noting is diasporic novelist Arif Anwar.
Other authors of international repute include Philip Hensher, Annie Zaidi, Himanjali Shankar, Jaishree Mishra and Olga Grjasnowa.
Much like last year, artistes from many fields will grace the event. Hollywood celebrity Tilda Swinton, and Bollywood stars Nandita Das and Monisha Koirala will share their works and thoughts at the festival.
In addition to the three directors—Sadaf Saaz, Kazi Anis Ahmed, and Ahsan Akbar—many Bangladeshi writers and poets writing in English will appear in different panels. They include Khademul Islam, Kaiser Haq, Syed Manzoorul islam, and Munize Manzur.
Lovers of Bengali literature will be delighted to see Shankar, one of the most popular writers from West Bengal, talk about his writing. Celebrated Bangladeshi novelists Anisul Hoque and Imdadul Haq Milon, and poets Asad Chowdhury, Ruby Rahman, and Audity Falguni, among others, will also be present at the festival.
