Samata Leather worst loser at DSE

Samata Leather Complex Limited was the worst loser as its share prices dropped more than 9% to Tk22 each at the Dhaka Stock Exchange yesterday.

The “Z” category or junk stock rose 85% in the first two week of December without any fundamental reason.

Earlier in a DSE query, the company replied that there is no undisclosed price sensitive information. The DSE, however, formed an enquiry committee to investigate the unusual price movement of the stocks.

In its first quarter (July 2013 to September 2013) report, the company made losses of Tk2.1 lakh against a loss of Tk3.2 lakh during the same period last year.

Net asset value of the company is Tk4.74 as of 2012, which is lower than its face value of Tk10. The stock price swung between Tk10.7and Tk26.2 in the last six months.

Accumulated loss of the company was Tk8.7 crore as of the beginning of 2013.
