Due to the selling spree of the investors during the deteriorating Covid situation in the country, share prices at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) plunged on Monday.
The key index of DSE, DSEX lost 65 points or 0.93% to 6,926 at the end of Monday’s session.
Meanwhile, the shariah-based lost 9 points or 0.62% and blue-chip index DS30 lost an astonishing 26 points or 1%.
Among the traded stocks, 72 advanced, while 254 declined and 44 remained unchanged at DSE.
Moreover, turnover of the premier bourse dropped 8% to Tk1,215 crore from the previous day.
The highest trade stocks were Union Bank, Beximco Ltd, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, National Polymer and Queen South Textiles.
Meanwhile, at the Chittagong Stock Exchange, its main index CASPI fell by 190 points or 0.93% to 20,298.
Among the trade stocks, 54 advanced, 228 declined and 23 remained unchanged.
