Higher revenue and reduction of the tax rate from 25% to 22.5% as per Finance Act 2021, has increased Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd’s Q1 (April-June) earnings by a staggering 593.53%.
In a filing with Dhaka Stock Exchange on Tuesday, the company said that its consolidated earnings per share (EPS) was Tk16.09 for April-June 2021 as against Tk2.32 for the same period of the previous year.
Meanwhile, its consolidated net asset value (NAV) per share was Tk248.87 as of June 30, 2021, and Tk232.78 as of March 31, 2021.
The company further said that its earnings were heavily impacted by the countrywide lockdown in Q1 of 2020-2021.
Back in the year 2020, Berger Paints offered a 295% cash dividend to its shareholders. The closing price for each of its shares was Tk1,800.3 during Tuesday’s session.
