Three people have been have been fined and sentenced to five years in prison, in a case filed over a share market scandal.
The chairman and two directors of “Mark Bangladesh Shilpa & Engineering Limited” were fined TK50 lakh each and sentenced to five years imprisonment by Judge Akbar Ali Sheikh of the Special Tribunal for Stock Market on Sunday.
The convicts are Chairman and Managing Director Imam Mulkutur Rahman, Vice Chairman Abdul Hye, and Director Salma Akter of the company.
Of them, Imam Mulkutur Rahman died while Abdul Hye and Salma Akter, have been absconding.
