Export earnings registered a 12.59% year-on-year growth to $3.08 billion in March, according to data by the Export Promotion Bureau.
Bangladesh had earned $2.73 billion from exports in March last year.
But export earnings for the July-March period of the current 2020-21 fiscal year fell slightly by 0.12% year-on-year to $28.93 billion.
Export earnings also missed the $3.44 billion target that the government set for March by 10.79%.
While the RMG sector experienced a 2.55% negative growth in the first nine months of the current fiscal year, agriculture, engineering products, leather footwear, pharmaceuticals, and jute and jute goods showed positive growth in export earnings.
