The cabinet has approved the proposed national budget for the 2020-21 fiscal year.
The proposed budget was approved on Thursday, during a special meeting presided over by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, held at the cabinet room in the Jatiya Sangsad building, reported UNB.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal and other cabinet ministers and state ministers concerned were present at the meeting.
The finance minister is in process of unveiling the proposed national budget at parliament. The session began at 3pm on Thursday.
This budget will be the second of the incumbent Awami League-led government formed through the 11th parliamentary election, held on December 30, 2018.
It is the country’s 49th national and the Awami League government's 21st budget since the country's independence in 1971.
