The owners of private cars will have to pay more to Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) for obtaining different services.
According to the proposed budget for FY2019-20, 10% supplementary duty will be imposed on fees charged for different services of BRTA and their renewal, including registration, route permit, fitness certificate, ownership certificate, and others.
However, this is not applicable for passenger or school buses, trucks and lorries, three-wheelers, and ambulances.
