MeenaClick, the grocery platform of retail supershop chain Meena Bazar, is now offering free delivery service on onions supplied by the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB).
Under the campaign, customers of MeenaClick can order onions at Tk36 per kilogram, without having to pay the delivery charges, said a press release.
The e-commerce platform is running the campaign in their operating areas, which cover Dhaka, Chittagong and Narayaganj.
In Dhaka, MeeanClick operates at Dhanmondi, Moghbazar, Shantinagar, Wari, Banasaree, Mirpur, Mohammadia Housing, Elephant Road, Gulshan, Banani, Natun Bazar, Niketon, Nikunjo, Azimpur, Wari and Uttara surrounding areas.
On September 20 earlier this year, the government inaugurated the online and subsidized sale of onions via e-commerce platforms to curb its price hike and make it available digitally for consumers.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi inaugurated the initiative, titled "Ghorey Boshey Shosthir Peyaj", in association with the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) and the e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB).
