The scheduled banks will remain open on Tuesday, but there will be no public transactions.
Traditionally public transactions in banks remain suspended on the first day of a fiscal year. Tuesday (1 July) is the first day of fiscal year 2014-15.
Stock markets (DSE and CSE) will also remain closed to the public on the day.
