A “Cashless Bangladesh” Promotional Campaign was held on Thursday, October 1, at Banani Kacha Bazar, Dhaka, to promote digital payments and raise public awareness about Bangla QR.
Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, MP, Minister for Finance and Planning, inaugurated the program as chief guest.
Md Ahteshamul Haque Khan, managing director & CEO of Dutch-Bangla Bank, was also present at the campaign.
During the campaign, the minister made a purchase using Bangla QR through Dutch-Bangla Bank’s app.
The program was organized by Bangladesh Bank in association with Dutch-Bangla Bank.
The minister highlighted Bangla QR as a fully encrypted and secure payment platform and urged the people to support the government’s vision of building a “Cashless Bangladesh.”
He also said that all transactions through Bangla QR under this initiative would be completely free of charge.
He further said that people would no longer need to carry cash and that the payment process would be easier and faster.
As part of its commitment to supporting the Government’s “Cashless Bangladesh” vision, Dutch-Bangla Bank has been conducting a range of awareness and promotional activities across the country to encourage both customers and merchants to use Bangla QR.
Dutch-Bangla Bank remains committed to expanding digital payment adoption and contributing to the development of a more convenient, efficient, and cashless payment ecosystem in Bangladesh.
