Southeast Bank unveils MFS platform TeleCash

A subsidiary of Southeast Bank PLC, TeleCash Limited received the final approval from Bangladesh Bank on September 24

With a commitment to expanding financial inclusion and building a cashless or digital economy in Bangladesh, mobile financial services (MFS) provider TeleCash Limited has commenced its commercial operations.

A subsidiary of Southeast Bank PLC, TeleCash Limited received the final approval from Bangladesh Bank on September 24, to commence its commercial services.

To mark this achievement, an inauguration ceremony was held on September 29, at the head office of Southeast Bank PLC in Dhaka.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by MA Kashem, chairman and founder chairman of Southeast Bank PLC and former president of FBCCI, as chief guest.

Nasir Uddin Ahmed, chairman of the board of directors of TeleCash Limited, attended the ceremony as special guest.

Also present at the event were Md Khalid Mahmud Khan, managing director & CEO of Southeast Bank PLC, and AKM Monirul Islam, acting managing director of TeleCash Limited, along with members of the boards of directors and senior officials of both organizations.

MA Kashem, chairman of Southeast Bank PLC, said: “The commencement of TeleCash Limited’s journey is a landmark step towards strengthening financial inclusion in Bangladesh and taking digital financial services to a new height. Nasir Uddin Ahmed, chairman of TeleCash Limited, said: “The formal launch of TeleCash marks an important milestone in our commitment to advancing digital financial services in the country. AKM Monirul Islam, acting managing director of TeleCash Limited, outlined the company’s business strategy and objectives, stating: “TeleCash does not aspire to be merely another MFS brand in the market; rather, we aim to build a trusted platform by combining technological excellence, risk-conscious operations and sound corporate governance.”
