Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. marked seven years of financial service with a grand anniversary event at Hotel InterContinental Dhaka, unveiling new retail products and declaring a strategic commitment to technology-driven, customer-centric, and sustainable growth under the theme ‘Transform, Growth & Sustainability’.
The celebration brought together senior government officials, regulatory leads, police top brass, and corporate leaders.
Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed attended as chief guest, urging the financial sector to expand coverage and build long-term trust.
He stressed that CSR must move beyond routine publicity into high-impact investments across education, healthcare, the environment, and social welfare.
Managing director Mohammed Emtiaz Uddin outlined the bank’s roadmap, emphasizing that transformation goes far beyond digital upgrades to reshape work processes and service culture.
He noted that future expansion will focus on strengthening capabilities and contributing directly to national economic development while keeping sustainability at the heart of long-term strategy.
Presiding over the ceremony, Md Ali Hossain Fakir, Inspector General of Police, Bangladesh and chairman of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC, expressed gratitude to Bangladesh Bank, regulators, shareholders, and clients.
He recognized the daily dedication of officers and staff across the country, highlighting that institutional success relies heavily on human effort alongside technology. Keeping pace with evolving economic realities, he emphasized, requires becoming more efficient, innovative, and humane to unite public trust with business progress.
Marking the milestone, the institution formally launched two tailored financial products:
- Community Bike Loan: A specialized financing solution tailored for confirmed Bangladesh Police members holding ranks from Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) to Inspector (and equivalent) to support personal and professional mobility.
- Community Swapner Bari: A home financing package structured to help clients purchase residential properties.
To honor exceptional contributions, awards were presented across three performance categories: Best Corporate Client, Best Branch/Sub-Branch, and Best Employee.
Speeches addressing governance, financial discipline, and client-centric practices were delivered by key directors, including Md. Akram Hossain, BPM (Sheba), Director of Community Bank and Additional Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (Finance), and Dr. Md. Morshed Hasan Khan, Independent Director.
