Standard Chartered Bangladesh and UK Export Finance (UKEF), the United Kingdom’s export credit agency, jointly organized a high-level roundtable discussion in Dhaka to explore opportunities to accelerate the Bangladesh–UK trade corridor and support Bangladesh’s export diversification agenda.
The roundtable brought together multiple dignitaries including senior representatives from Standard Chartered Bangladesh, British High Commission Dhaka, UKEF and different leading pharmaceuticals, light engineering, agribusiness, seafood, footwear industry to share insights on market opportunities, challenges, and the enabling role of trade finance and export credit.
The roundtable featured interactive discussions on practical use cases for UKEF-backed financing in Bangladesh, structuring of export credit facilities, and ways to align project pipelines with the country’s development priorities, including infrastructure, sustainability, and industrial upgrading.
