Islami Bank, Jagannath University Ink MoU for co-branded master debit cards

Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC and Jagannath University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide Co-Branded Master Debit Card services bearing the university’s name and identity to the teachers, students, officers and employees of Jagannath University.

The MoU signing ceremony was held on Wednesday, September 2 at the Vice Chancellor’s Conference Room of Jagannath University.

Vice Chancellor of the university Prof Md Rais Uddin was present as chief guest.

Md Zahirul Islam, senior vice president of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, and Prof Sabina Sharmin, treasurer of Jagannath University, signed on the agreement behalf of respective organizations. 

Under the agreement, teachers, students, officers and employees of the university will be provided with Co-Branded Master Debit Cards bearing the university’s name and identity.

Cardholders will be able to access various modern digital banking services of Islami Bank including the CellFin App, POS and QR payment services, and ATM/CRM network.

Under this initiative, fee-free facilities, special benefits for students and various financial literacy programs will be arranged for the concerned users.

In future, depending on requirements, opportunities to access services through Visa, UPI and other card schemes will also be available.

Md Maznuzzaman and Md Mosharraf Hossain, executive vice presidents, Muzahidul Islam, senior vice president, along with senior officials from both organizations attended the ceremony.
