Mercantile Bank completes Sicip training in Chittagong

Mercantile Bank PLC has completed a one-month (100-hour) specialized training program titled “Entrepreneurship Development” in Chittagong, aimed at developing skilled and capable entrepreneurs.

The training was conducted under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (Sicip), implemented by the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance with funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), under the overall supervision of the SME & Special Programs Department of Bangladesh Bank.

A total of 25 entrepreneurs successfully completed the training and were awarded certificates at the closing ceremony recently.

The event was presided over by Md Shaiful Alam Chowdhury, SEVP and head of Chittagong regional office, Mercantile Bank.

Mohammad Wasim, joint director of Bangladesh Bank and deputy project director of Sicip, attended the ceremony as chief guest, while Mohammad Nizamul Hoque, head of SME financing division, Mercantile Bank, was present as special guest.

Branch managers of Mercantile Bank's Chittagong region, along with officials from the bank's head office and regional office, were also present at the ceremony.
