Dhaka Bank CSR partner at Smile Asia's 8th Int’l Friendship Medical Mission in Dhaka

The bank reaffirmed its commitment to supporting humanitarian initiatives that expand access to healthcare and create a positive impact on communities across Bangladesh

Dhaka Bank participated as the corporate social responsibility (CSR) partner in the inauguration ceremony of the 8th International Friendship Medical Mission, organized by Smile Asia in Dhaka.

Through this partnership, the bank reaffirmed its commitment to supporting humanitarian initiatives that expand access to healthcare and create a positive impact on communities across Bangladesh.

The 8th International Friendship Medical Mission was officially inaugurated on July 18 at the Government Employees Hospital in Dhaka.

The inauguration ceremony was formally officiated by Md Ismail Jobiullah, Adviser to the Ministry of Public Administration, who attended the event as chief guest.

Smile Asia is a global alliance of international charitable organizations dedicated to providing treatment for children with congenital facial deformities and enhancing the quality of healthcare services.

The organization is conducting the 8th International Friendship Medical Mission in Dhaka from July 18-24.

The mission, equipped with four operating tables, aims to provide comprehensive medical evaluation and surgical treatment to 100 children suffering from cleft lip and cleft palate.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Osman Ershad Faiz, managing director of Dhaka Bank PLC, and Abhimanya Talukdar, secretary general of Smile Asia.

Special guests included Md Ehsanul Haque, senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, and Kamruzzaman Chowdhury, secretary of the Ministry of Health.

Speaking at the ceremony, Osman Ershad Faiz expressed his sincere appreciation to Smile Asia, SAJIDA Foundation, and the Government Employees Hospital for successfully organizing this international medical mission.

As the CSR partner, he reaffirmed Dhaka Bank's commitment to responsible banking and social development.

He also congratulated Smile Asia for bringing internationally renowned medical specialists to Bangladesh to implement such a meaningful humanitarian initiative.

Furthermore, he commended the dedicated efforts and unwavering commitment of SAJIDA Foundation, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and all supporting personnel for their invaluable contributions to serving underprivileged communities.
