An interactive art workshop for 15 children under the care of JAAGO Foundation was held on Saturday at Galleri Kaya in Uttara, Dhaka.
The workshop was organized by Galleri Kaya with the support of Standard Chartered Bangladesh as part of a broader initiative to make art more accessible to underserved communities and create meaningful opportunities for creative expression among those who would otherwise have limited access to such experiences.
As part of this initiative, participating artists will also travel to Madhupur on July 11-12 to conduct interactive art sessions with members of the indigenous Garo community, celebrating their culture, heritage, traditions, and way of life through artistic engagement.
Together, these two workshops reflect Standard Chartered Bangladesh’s commitment to supporting children’s upbringing, mental development, emotional wellbeing, and confidence through creativity and self-expression, while also promoting inclusivity, celebrating cultural diversity, and creating meaningful opportunities for underserved and indigenous communities to engage with art.
The workshop was led by renowned Indian artist Chandra Bhattacharya.
Artist Atin Basak, along with several other local artists, also took part, engaging the children in painting and a range of creative activities.
Throughout the session, the children had the opportunity to interact closely with the artists, explore different artistic techniques, and express their ideas in a warm, encouraging, and inspiring environment.
The initiative also includes an exhibition featuring the works of Chandra Bhattacharya, which will be inaugurated at Galleri Kaya on July 10.
The exhibition will remain open to visitors until July 21.
