NCC Bank disburses SME loans to mark International MSME Day 2026

The bank handed over approved credit sanction letters amounting to Tk20.5 crore to participating SME customers, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening the country's entrepreneurship ecosystem

NCC Bank celebrated International MSME (Micro, Small, Medium and Cottage Enterprises) Day 2026 by organizing a SME customer gathering and open credit disbursement program at its head office recently.

As part of the celebration, the bank handed over approved credit sanction letters amounting to Tk20.5 crore to participating SME customers, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening the country's entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The program was presided over by M Khurshed Alam, managing director (current charge) of NCC Bank.

Among others Md Zakir Anam & Md Habibur Rahman, deputy managing directors, Nighat Mumtaz, EVP & head of sustainable and women's banking, Sharif Mohammad Mahsin, SVP & head of SME, Md Jashimuddin, SVP & head of Dhaka Outskirt Region, divisional heads from the head office, branch managers, SME entrepreneurs, and valued customers were present. 

Addressing the gathering, deputy managing director Md Zakir Anam emphasized the significant contribution of the CMSME sector to Bangladesh's economic growth, employment generation, and inclusive development.

He highlighted Bangladesh Bank's various refinance, pre-finance, and credit guarantee scheme initiatives that have improved access to finance for entrepreneurs.

He further stated that NCC Bank has been steadily expanding its CMSME financing portfolio and will continue to increase its investment in the sector to support sustainable economic development.

Speaking on the occasion, deputy managing director Md Habibur Rahman said that approximately 24% of NCC Bank's total loan portfolio is currently allocated to the CMSME sector, with a strategic target of increasing the share to 30% in the near future.

He noted that the bank is actively supporting entrepreneurs through Bangladesh Bank's refinance and pre-finance schemes, entrepreneurship development programs, women entrepreneur financing initiatives, collaborations with the SME Foundation, PKSF, and other development partners to promote inclusive and sustainable business growth across the country.

Managing director (CC) M Khurshed Alam reaffirmed NCC Bank's unwavering commitment to the development of the CMSME sector, describing it as a key driver of sustainable economic growth, employment generation, and entrepreneurship.

He announced that the bank has recently introduced four specialized SME products—NCC Commercial Building Loan, NCC Commercial Vehicle Loan, NCC Supply Chain Finance, and NCC SME Business Account—to address the evolving financial needs of entrepreneurs.

He further announced the launch of several new digital initiatives for SME customers, including the NCC Always App, SME Visa Multi-Currency Debit Card, QR Code payment facility, and Chatbot services, aimed at making banking more accessible, efficient, and technology-driven.

He added that NCC Bank will continue to introduce customized financial solutions and innovative banking services to better serve the country's growing SME sector.
