Akkas Uddin Mollah has been unanimously reelected as chairman of executive committee of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC in its 389th meeting of the board of directors held on January 8.
In the same meeting, Fakir Akhtaruzzaman was reelected vice-chairman of executive committee of the bank.
Reelected chairman of executive committee Akkas Uddin Mollah was born in 1954 at Nawabganj, Dhaka.
After completion of education, he started export business of readymade garments.
Akkas Uddin Mollah has long and creditable business experience for more than three decades and established a number of readymade garment industries by dint of his merit & hard work.
Mollah is chairman & managing director of Russel Spinning Mills Limited, PNR Industries Limited, Ekram Sweaters Limited, Tania Cotton Mills Limited, Nurul Islam Spinning Mills Limited, Goodman Pharmaceuticals Limited, Topaz Dresses Limited and Alalpur Agro & Fisheries Limited and proprietor of Russel Garments, Russel Apparels, Russel Washing Plant.
In addition to his success in trade and business, Mollah is immensely reputed for his contribution to the field of education and health care services.
He is also founder of Osmania Madrasa and Osmania Memorial Hospital.
Mollah has also affiliation with different trade bodies and social organizations.
He is currently member of BGMEA and BTMEA. He is also a member of Narayanganj Club.
He has also travelled many countries of the World for promotion of his business.
Reelected vice-chairman of executive committee of the bank Fakir Akhtaruzzaman was born in 1956 at Panchrukhi, Araihazar in Narayanganj and started business after completion of his education.
He has a long and successful business experience for more than three decades and established himself as an icon of knit garments industries.
Fakir Akhtaruzzaman is managing director of Fakir Knitwear’s Limited, Fakir Eco Knitwear’s Limited, FKL Spinning Ltd., and Zaman Agro Fisheries Ltd.
He has been awarded with National Export Trophy (Gold, Silver) several times and also selected as CIP by the Government of Bangladesh for his contribution to national economy.

He is founder of Shaheb Ali High School, Begum Anowara College and Madrasah Darul Hadith Salafiah at Araihazar of Narayanganj.
