A signing ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Jahangir Alam Conference Hall of Bangladesh Bank's head office between Global Islami Bank PLC (GIB) and the Credit Guarantee Department of Bangladesh Bank.
Under the two agreements signed, GIB will be able to avail credit guarantee facilities from Bangladesh Bank to extend collateral-free investments to women entrepreneurs and agro-processing sector for the expansion of cottage industries, job creation, and economic growth.
In presence of Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar and Executive Director of BB Mohammad Jamal Uddin -- Syed Habib Hasnat, managing director of GIB, and Nahid Rahman, director of credit guarantee department of Bangladesh Bank, signed the agreements on behalf of their respective institutions.
In addition to them, SM Mizanur Rahman, executive vice president and head of investment division of GIB; were present at the ceremony.
