AL int'l affairs sub-committee commemorates National Mourning Day

Bangladesh Awami League's international affairs sub-committee held a special event to commemorate National Mourning Day, as well as the August 21, 2004 assassination attempt against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Begum Matia Chowdhury, MP, Deputy Leader of National Parliament and Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami League, was present as the chief guest in the function organized at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum.

Abdur Rahman, Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami League, also attended as special guest

Dr. Shammi Ahmed, International Affairs Secretary, Central Committee, Bangladesh Awami League gave a welcome speech on the occasion.

Among others, Syeda Zakia Noor Lipi, MP and Abdur Rahman Rama, an eyewitness to the 1975 massacre, spoke.

The program was presided over by Mohammad Zamir, former Ambassador, Chairman, International Affairs Sub-Committee, Bangladesh Awami League.

Ambassadors of various countries including USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, China, Kosovo, Argentina, Vietnam, Turkey and Tariq Afzal, member, international affairs sub-committee, Bangladesh Awami League, and central leaders of Bangladesh Awami League and other members of the international affairs sub-committee were present at this time.
