Home Minister Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir on Sunday told the Jatiya Sangsad that he does not own any bank, not even the recently launched Farmers Bank Limited.
“I’m not the owner of the bank, I’m one of the shareholders,” he told the House while delivering his speech on supplementary budget discussion.
Earlier, BNP lawmaker Rehana Akhter Ranu questioned how a former public servant could be the owner of a Tk4bn bank, and the minister should be ashamed of it.
“There’s nothing to feel ashamed as I’m not the owner. There’s nothing to hide,” Muhiuddin told the House.
In his speech, the home minister highlighted the government’s development initiatives across the country and appreciated the budget proposals for further development.
