In its effort to work for financial inclusion for the unbanked population as well as creating opportunities for entrepreneurship, AB Bank is set to expand its Agent Banking services through union digital centres (UDC) across the country.
It has signed an agreement with the government’s Aspire to Innovate (a2i) project on Thursday, said a press release.
The UDCs of the local government will be affiliated as agents of AB Bank to introduce banking services for marginalized and underserved communities.
AB Bank’s President & Managing Director Tarique Afzal and Project Director (Additional Secretary), a2i Program Md Abdul Mannan signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.
Syed Mizanur Rahman, head of relationship management & agent banking of AB Bank, Md Tohurul Hasan, program manager of a2i and other senior executives of both organizations were also present on the virtual ceremony.
