The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) in Bangladesh recently launched dual currency transaction feature on the HSBC debit card to facilitate overseas transactions for shopping, dining and any other needs.
The new facility will offer cardholders greater flexibility and help them to carry out transactions with ease when travelling abroad, said a press release.
To avail this service cardholders will need to visit their nearest HSBC branch and endorse their passport for travel quota entitlement against their existing local HSBC debit card.
Once this is done, the existing local HSBC debit card will be accepted for purchases in all Visa merchants around the world as well as in Bangladesh.
Announcing the launch of this feature with HSBC debit card, Ahmed Saiful Islam, head of wealth and personal banking at HSBC, said: “The ease of having just one card and using it at home and abroad for all our enhances the customer experience which is one of the major purpose of our operations in Bangladesh. I strongly believe this will benefit our customers and we look forward to strengthening our card features in the coming days.”
