Bankers have requested Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal to keep SME loan outside 9% lending ratio scheme.
They made the plea at a dinner program with the finance minister at the office of Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB) in Gulshan’s Jabbar Tower on Monday.
Members of Association of Bankers Bangladesh (ABB) were also present in the program.

Earlier in December 2019, the finance minister declared that all types of lending rates would be as high as 9% and deposit rate maximum 6%. The new scheme will come into effect from April 1.
However, only interest rates on credit cards would remain outside the scheme.
The deadline to launch the new lending-deposit ratio scheme was deferred from January 1 to April 1 at the request of bankers and directors.
