BB chief requests Muhith to appoint directors

Bangladesh Bank board currently has seven directors. Two posts have remained vacant at the nine-member board. Dr Jamaluddin Ahmed FCA and Dr Rashidan Islam were appointed as private directors of the central bank on March 13, 2016 for three years. Dr Rashidan Islam is the research director of the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS). Earlier, two directors were appointed. BB Deputy Governor Abu Hena Mahmmad Razi Hasan was made director.
