Beximco Power Company Limited and Chinese firm Jiangsu Zhogtian Technology Company will jointly implement the project, Additional Secretary Mostafizur Rahman told the Dhaka Tribune after the meeting yesterday.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith presided over the meeting.
Additional secretary said the government would buy electricity at Tk11.12 per unit from the plant.
The committee also approved the proposal of 5-MW solar power plant in Lalmonirhat. The proposal was made by the Power Division.
The Green Housing and Energy Ltd and the CETC International Company Limited will set up the plant under a joint-venture initiative.
Mostafizur Rahman said the plant will supply electricity to national grid at Tk10 a unit.
