The Ministry of Textiles and Jute has been directed to formulate strategic plans and take immediate action for the development of Bangladesh's diversified jute products sector.
The directives were issued during a high-level meeting held on Monday at the Ministry of Commerce, presided over by Commerce, Industry, and Textiles & Jute Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir.
A delegation from the Bangladesh Jute Diversified Products Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BDJMEA), led by its president Md Rashedul Karim Munna, met with top officials to discuss key challenges and opportunities in expanding the sector.
State Minister for Textiles and Jute Shariful Alam, along with the Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute and other senior ministry officials, were present at the meeting.
