Digital news platform NPB News has reached a major milestone by surpassing 6 million followers across Facebook and YouTube just nine months after its official launch.
To mark the occasion, the platform hosted a cake-cutting ceremony at its capital headquarters on Sunday, attended by State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku as chief guest alongside various state ministers, media editors, corporate personalities, and NPB News staff.
Speaking at the event, State Minister Sultan Salauddin Tuku highlighted the rapid shift in how people consume news in the digital era and stressed the need for digital media to uphold responsible and objective journalism.
State Minister for Housing and Public Works Ahmad Sohel Monjur Sumon noted that because digital platforms are becoming the public's primary news source, maintaining objectivity and credibility alongside speed is essential.
Asia Post Editor Palash Mahmud praised NPB News as one of the fastest-growing digital platforms, noting that it has quickly established a remarkable position and earned the trust of its audience.
NPB news editor Al Hadi emphasized that reaching this milestone reflects audience trust and consistent hard work, reaffirming the platform's commitment to delivering national and international news responsibly.
Akram Hossain, head of digital at NPB News, explained that the platform has adapted to evolving content consumption patterns through fact-based reporting, video reports, interviews, and visual storytelling.
He added that reaching 6 million followers in nine months demonstrates a strong demand for credible content, attributing the achievement to the entire NPB News team and its loyal audience.
NPB News officially launched on October 11, 2025, with the slogan 'Truth, Live, First,' publishing news across both online and multimedia platforms.
In addition to standard news coverage, the platform produces specialized talk shows and entertainment programs, including Questioner Mukhomukhi, NPB Podcast, Business Pulse, NPB Build Talk Bangladesh, Tarar Rong, and NPB Gane Gane.
