BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) inaugurated the Abdullah Hil Rakib Auditorium at its campus on July 29, honoring the late industry leader, education advocate, and former member of the university's board of trustees for his enduring contributions to higher education and Bangladesh's apparel sector.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Faruque Hassan, chairman of the board of trustees of BUFT and former president of BGMEA; Md Moshiul Azam Shajal, member of BoT; Mohammed Nasir, member of BoT; Mohammad Sohel Sadat, chairman, Shin-Shin Group; Dr Afroza Shahin, managing director of TEAM Group; Abdullah Hil Nakib, deputy managing director of TEAM Group; Sharmeen Hassan, director of Giant Group; Prof Engr Ayub Nabi Khan, vice chancellor (designate) of BUFT; acting pro vice chancellor and treasurer; the registrar; as well as faculty members, officials, students, and distinguished guests.
The program began with the unveiling of the newly named auditorium, followed by a documentary highlighting the life, leadership, and lasting contributions of Abdullah Hil Rakib to Bangladesh's readymade garment industry and his unwavering commitment to education and institutional development.
The event concluded with a Doa seeking eternal peace for the departed soul and blessings for the continued progress of the university.
