Ha-Meem Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with robotics and automation company Robonauts Ltd. to accelerate the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies and prepare a future-ready workforce for Bangladesh's ready-made garment (RMG) sector.
The partnership will combine Ha-Meem Group's manufacturing capabilities with Robonauts' expertise in robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), industrial automation and engineering education to boost productivity and strengthen the global competitiveness of Bangladesh's apparel industry.
The collaboration will focus on three areas: workforce development, industrial automation and industry-academia collaboration.
As part of the agreement, Robonauts will introduce upskilling programs for both factory and corporate employees in robotics, AI, automation systems, digital manufacturing and smart factory operations.
Leadership training will also be offered to equip managers with the skills needed to lead digital transformation.
The partnership also envisages deploying robotics, machine vision, intelligent sensors and AI-powered solutions across Ha-Meem Group's manufacturing operations.
Planned initiatives include automation assessments, AI-based quality inspection, predictive maintenance, process optimization, automated material handling and production monitoring.
The two organizations will additionally work with universities and engineering institutions to promote research, innovation, internships and stronger industry-academia collaboration aimed at developing the next generation of engineers and technology professionals.
"Embracing Industry 4.0 is central to our long-term strategy of building a globally competitive and technology-driven manufacturing ecosystem," said Rohit Gopalakrishnan Nair, chief operating officer of Ha-Meem Group.
Robonauts chief executive officer Md Moonzoor Morshed said the collaboration would help accelerate the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies in Bangladesh's garment sector while creating a skilled workforce capable of supporting the industry's digital transformation.
Officials from both organizations attended the MoU signing ceremony in Dhaka on Saturday.
The companies said the partnership marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration to promote innovation, knowledge sharing and sustainable industrial growth, supporting Bangladesh's ambition to remain a global leader in intelligent apparel manufacturing.
The MoU signing ceremony was also attended by MM Motiur Rahman, zonal executive director – Tongi Zone; Nizam Uddin, assistant general manager, human resources; and Washiful Islam Shadvi, strategic management and R&D officer.
Representing Robonauts Ltd were Ishraque Rafin, chief business officer; and Tonmoy Khan, executive director.
