ACI Foods Limited and the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote the innovation and development of safer, more nutritious and quality food products for consumers in Bangladesh. at the BCSIR office, Dhaka on June 24.
The MoU was signed by Zakir Ibne Hai, executive director and chief operating officer of ACI Foods Limited, and Mohammad Shahidul Hoque Patwary, secretary of BCSIR, on behalf of their respective organizations.
The signing ceremony was attended by Samina Ahmed, chairman of BCSIR; Abul Fatah Md Baligur Rahman, member (development); Mosammat Hosne Ara Begum, member (science and technology); Manzur Morshed Ahmed, director of IFST; Md Nazimul Islam, general manager, PD & QA Department of ACI Foods; and Chowdhury Tasmiah Jabeen, business manager of ACI Foods, along with other officials from both organizations.
The main objective of this public-private joint initiative is to improve food quality and ensure nutritional value, so that consumers in Bangladesh can have easier access to safer, nutritious and quality food products.
Under this agreement, ACI Foods and BCSIR will work together to improve safe and quality food processing.
The concerned officials hope that this initiative will create new opportunities for research-based food product innovation and development in the country’s food industry.
The MoU will also further expand the scope of joint research, technical support, training, seminars and knowledge sharing between the two institutions.
