AIUB, Sony Bangladesh sign MoU

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Sony Bangladesh and the American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB) at the AIUB campus on Tuesday, June 23.

Nadia Anwar, founder member and chairman, board of trustees, AIUB, and Joshua Quek, branch head, Sony International (Singapore) Ltd., Bangladesh Branch, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.

The signing ceremony was attended by Prof Saiful Islam, vice chancellor, AIUB; Prof Manzur H Khan, proctor, AIUB; Ziarat H Khan, deputy director, student services and welfare, AIUB; along with other university officials, faculty members, and mentors of the AIUB Photography Club.

Key Representatives from Sony Singapore were also present namely Karan Sum, regional head of digital imaging, and Jonathan Poon, digital imaging product specialist.

Under the terms of the agreement, Sony Bangladesh provided complimentary Sony camera equipment to the AIUB Photography Club (AIUB PC), operating under the supervision of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), AIUB.

In addition to the equipment support, Sony will extend mentorship opportunities and conduct workshops for club members, helping them enhance their technical knowledge and practical skills in photography.

As part of this collaboration, the AIUB Photography Club will be recognized as “AIUB Photography Club – Powered by Sony.”

The partnership is expected to strengthen the club's activities and events while creating valuable learning opportunities for aspiring photographers through industry engagement, professional guidance, and access to advanced imaging technology.
