Nagad launches instant money transfer service from ONE Bank

To ensure easier, faster and safer digital transaction facilities for customers, One Bank PLC has launched a service to transfer money from its mobile financial service Nagad to the app.

This will ensure the transaction freedom of customers and at the same time mark a milestone in the progress of cashless transactions in the country.

The service was launched at a function in this regard at One Bank's corporate head office in the capital on Tuesday.

Bangladesh Bank-appointed Nagad Administrator Md Motasim Billah and One Bank managing director Muhith Rahman were present.

The function was attended by the company's chief commercial officer Mohammad Shahin Sarwar Bhuiyan, head of business sales Md Saidur Rahman Dipu, and others.

Also present on behalf of ONE Bank were Shabbir Ahmed, additional managing director and head of business, deputy managing director Kazi Ziaul Islam, deputy managing director Iftekhar Ahmed Zafar, and senior officials of both institutions.

At the event, Nagad Administrator Md Motasim Billah said: “Interconnection between banks and mobile financial services is very important for the expansion of digital financial services in Bangladesh. As a result of this partnership with One Bank, customers will be able to make digital transactions more easily. At the same time, this initiative will also play an important role in expanding the country's digital financial inclusion.”

Muhith Rahman, managing director of One Bank, said: “At ONE Bank, we are always keen on embracing the digital ecosystem to ensure convenience for our customers. This partnership with Nagad will help our customers make instant transactions with security, which will actually accelerate Bangladesh Bank's goal of ensuring a cashless economy and financial inclusion.”
