The government has taken initiatives to revive closed industrial units as part of efforts to boost employment in the economy.

Authorities believe that bringing these factories back into operation will create new job opportunities and increase overall production. The move is expected to strengthen the industrial sector and support broader economic growth, according to the budget statement.

Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury unveiled the proposed national budget for the 2026–27 fiscal year in parliament on Thursday.

The proposed budget, the first under the current government, has an outlay of Tk938,000 crore.
