The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has extended the deadline for filing online VAT returns for the tax period ending March 2026.
As per the new decision, the last date for submitting returns in the e-VAT system has been extended till April 23, 2026.
In a notification issued on Wednesday (April 15), the NBR said that the extension has been made in the public interest in view of the government holiday on the occasion of Pohela Baishakh and technical difficulties arising due to the e-VAT system upgradation.
The notification further said that the decision has been taken under the powers conferred under sub-section (1A) of section 64 of the Value Added Tax and Supplementary Duty Act, 2012.
